Takapartch is a musician and composer who plays many instruments including the trumpet, the piano, and the guitar. He has a long and diverse history, including street performing, live-house and stage events and festivals. Using his skill as a composer, he also produces works of pantomime, puppetry, drama, and dance. He is always keen to work with others and we have seen many of his improvisatory collaborations at WMDF. It was in 1990 that he started his “Human Juke Box”. Keep an eye out for an unusual installation in Motomachi Park. Insert a coin and make your choice from the huge list of possible songs including soundtracks, folk songs, classical pieces, jazz and also Takapartch originals. Each show is different, but one constant that you can always expect is humour.
