WMDF and the Mogu Mogu Festival are brought to you by "Worlds Meet Japan". We are non-profit, and run by volunteers. Any proceeds of our event go to our work on transformational social and educational projects locally and internationally.
- Hinokiya, the main group of this event saw my relief and invited us to this event.
2, What do you want to deliver to audience through your performance?
- I want to deliver the happiness of creativity. Despite the quality, creating new things are important.
3, What do you think about Hakodate?
- Although this is our second visits to Hakodate, I’ve never gone around this city. I feel Hakodate is really big city and nice.
4, What is your New Beginning?
- I am a creator of music, musical instruments, drama, painting and kids books. I’m going to do a tour of Hokkaido of my paintings. This is first time for me so I’m looking forward to it.
– Our manager told us to come to this festival. We accepted the manager’s offer because we think it’s good to keep playing because our music keeps us alive.
2, What do you want to deliver to the audience?
– We want to deliver and share enjoyment and happiness. Also, we can hear different musicians playing their music.
3, What do you think about Hakodate?
– This place is amazing. I have come to Japan many times, mostly Tokyo, but this is the first time for us to come to Hakodate. Although Tokyo is very busy, Hakodate is not so busy so when I asked people which way I should go, they stopped walking and taught us where to go. Greeting and hospitality of this place is amazing.
4, What is your `New Beginning’ ?
– Coming to WMDF is a new thing for us. We really want to come to this event next year. Our show gets better and better on each stage because we are getting inspired by many artists, people, food, views and everything that happens around us.

We always do not follow the crowd. Some people may feel our music is disturbing but we want to do those kinds of music in a fun way. It’s important to destroy music before bringing joy with music. For example, there’s no beautiful cherry blossoms before winter comes or there was beautiful world after the God let the Deluge happen in the Noah’s Ark story. That’s why it’s important to destroy the music.
We came here to do mainly two things. One, we want to watch other culture’s performance, especially Japanese culture. Two, we want to show our cultures to the people in this event.
2, What do you want to deliver to the audience?
We want them to enjoy our performance.
3, What do you think about Hakodate?
This is our second visit to Hakodate. Despite the weather conditions, the population and nature of Hakodate are so good.
4, What do think about this WMDF?
There are some groups from overseas in this event so it’s good.
I came here to perform and for sightseeing. People here are so friendly and they are enjoying hearing many kinds of culture’s music together.
2, What do you want to deliver to the audience?
This traditional music has spirits so I want to Deliver the spirits. I also want to deliver peace. I want to make people happier to enjoy this WMDF.
3, What does WMDF mean to you?
Each group has different missions, cultures and musical instruments, but we gather in the same place to tell each others missions and cultures through this WMDF. This is like an amusement park. Many people have energy, channeling it together with joy.
4, What do you think about Hakodate?
Hakodate is a peaceful city and people here are so friendly. I’m impressed. All generations are enjoying this WMDF, even children are enjoying it.
5, What is your New `Beginning’ ?
We are organizing to go to many different countries.
1, What inspired you to come here?
– I walked along this street in front of Motomachi Park then I found that there is a festival going on. Later on I went out to see this event. There are many different musics so I like it very much. I watched Aomori’s Nebuta-Matsuri, Akita’s Kantou-Matsuri through traveling around Japan. Matsuri in Japan are so good.
2, Is there any `New Beginning’ to you?
– It’s important to try.
