Free Bus Rides
Passes can also be used to ride the “Motomachi Circular Bus”. It runs all day every 20 mins, and if you are getting on or off at Hakodate Station, the stand is number 4. The free travel period is from Jun 13 – Aug 11. If you have purchased a Sponsor Pass exchange token, you can use this until you can pick up your actual pass in August.

Collaborating with Hakodate’s “Yagai Geki” Outdoor Play
Hakodate has an annual outdoor play performed around the moat in its famous castle that in 2017 is celebrating its 30th anniversary. We have teamed up to offer mutual discounts. Show your WMDF Sponsor Pass (or coupon, or Lawson receipt) when buying a Yagai Geki ticket and you will receive a 300 yen reduction. Or, show your Yagai Geki ticket (or stub) when buying a One Day Pass at WMDF to get the same 300 Yen reduction. With a whole week of WMDF, and Yagai Geki performances every Friday and Saturday from Jul 14 to Aug 12, you have a raft of chances to enjoy Hakodate’s summer.

Goryokaku Park is home to Haodate’s star-shaped fortress, designed in 1855 by Takeda Hisaburō. Thanks to Goryokaku Tower for offering WMDF artists a free ride up to the observation platform to see this Special Historical Site from above. Offer is open for the entire festival period Aug 5 to Aug 11.
